Spring 2016 News! 3/25/16

With just one week of spring underway, we have a lot to look forward to at the Village at Ocean’s End as we head through spring and into summer. There are currently 4 owned and completed houses, and soon to be 4 under construction.

Unit 6 (photos and floor plans here) is 95% complete and is a beautiful summer getaway.

Unit 5 has most of its siding and will be completely sheetrocked next week!

Unit 8 is coming along as well and now has walls inside and will soon have a shingled roof.

We will be breaking ground on Unit 3 next Monday and will have another house completed this summer.

Also on the development’s agenda this spring is the continuation of the sidewalk. It has been a mild winter, and hopefully that means a long warm summer too! We can’t wait to see all the visitors start pouring in over the next few weeks. Remember, if you are here this spring or summer, to contact our realtor and schedule a tour of the Village at Ocean’s End.

Winter has settled in, and costal Maine has been especially chilly. But bundled up, there is something
marvelous in watching the sun rise over the still and frozen wonderland.

1. Unit 11 has a new owner!
2. Unit 4 has also sold!
3. The property has been professionally landscaped, and we can't wait
to see what the flowers look like come spring.
4. The road is paved and looking spectacular.
5. Unit 6 had its foundation poured.
6. Unit 5 will have a foundation within the week, weather permitting.

Houses seem to be selling as fast as we can build them; schedule your visit to Southwest Harbor now, and come see what all the fuss is about!

Under Contract 9/26/14

Unit 11 is now under contract, and we are thrilled the project is progressing along. Unit four is to be completed by November 1st. Landscaping and paving projects will also be completed before the snow flies.

There is a chill in the air, as the leaves start to change up in Southwest Harbor, ME. It is a great time of year to take a leaf peeping trip to the famous Mount Desert Island, and swing by The Village at Ocean's End for a tour around the property. We hope to see you up there!

Construction Update 4/23/14

It is springtime in Southwest Harbor, Maine and after one of the coldest March's on record, temperatures are finally in the 50's and rising. The snow is melted, the grass is turning green, and the trees and flowers are budding. It is looking like it is going to be a beautiful summer on Mount Desert Island.

Memorial day 2014 is scheduled to be a big day at the Village at Oceans End. Lots 4 and 11 are scheduled to be ready to sell and the gazebo and dock will be in place for residents to use for the summer. Lot ten, which is already sold, should also be completed then.

Progress on Lot Ten 10/21/13

Breaking ground last week, lot ten is progressing rapidly. With fall colors still in the trees, the days are crisp and clear, and the views are spectacular. The town of Southwest Harbor is so peaceful in autumn, being a little off the beaten path. It really is a relaxing home away from home.

Check out how to get to this beautiful town by using our location page.  Then, see what there is to do on Mount Desert Island by viewing the lifestyle page.

Activities in Maine are a year-round adventure, and this area has some of the best and most desirable recreational attractions on the east coast. You will love it!

Leaf Peeping Trip Around the Property 10/14/13

To check on the progress of the development, the owners took a trip to MDI this Columbus Day weekend. The leaves were in peak season, and it was a gorgeous day. The sun was shining and the crisp fall air smelled of hemlocks.

Lot number ten, which broke ground last Friday, was well underway and on schedule to be completed by December of this year.

Research was conducted on the salt marsh for the trail system, which will be in place by this time next year. Old Clark Road will the the basis for this trail system, and it will run alongside Buttermilk creek and down to the salt marsh. It will provide homeowners a place to walk their dogs and enjoy the variety of nature available on the property. The marsh will be a great spot for bird-watching, and local rumors report it to be a phenomenal secret fishing spot. The trails will lead right up to the back of Acadia National Park, where hiking can then be continued within the park.

A walk down to the water proved successful for collecting sea glass, and investigating tide-pools. In the spring, a gazebo will be added to the waterfront area for homeowners leisure, where one can sit and read or simply enjoy the beauty of the area. The waterfront also consists of a pier with five floating docks for easy water access by residents. These floating docks have been removed for the winter, but will be put back in next spring.

Overall, it proved to be a productive and breathtaking day. "I've only ever spent time in the area during the summer months, but fall is arguably even more spectacular. I love the colors on the trees and the refreshing ocean breeze. Plus, there are almost no crowds!" Dawn Howland
